Course and Dan Grade Presentations
Sensei Grimes and Sensei Heap led training at a course in Yate on Saturday 3/Dec. Training covered many aspects including kaisetsu from Pinan Sandan. After training there was a presentation of Dan grade certificates. (Dec/11)

WKF Christmas Dinner
WKF members converged on the Holiday Inn in Bristol on Saturday evening 3/Dec for a truely memorable evening with Christmas dinner followed by dancing. It was a superb night enjoyed by everyone. (Dec/11)

Sensei Grimes awarded 8th Dan
Congratulations to Sensei Grimes who has been awarded 8th Dan by the English Karate Federation. This is a thoroughly well deserved achievement in recognition of Sensei's amazing capabilities and contribution to karate. WKF Autumn Championships
The WKF Autumn Championships were held at Yate Leisure Centre on Sunday 21/Nov. There was a large entry for the Championships and some excellent performances in both Kata and Kumite. Find out who won trophies and have a look at some pictures from the day. (Nov/11)

Second Referee's Course
Mr Ivor Thomas visited Yate on Saturday, 24th September, to conduct a second Referee's course for the WKF this year. The course was informative and enjoyable - Ivor will be the Chief Referee at the WKF's competion on Sunday 20th November. (Nov/11)

Yate Weekend Course
Sensei Grimes and Sensei Heap led training at Yate Leisure centre on the weekend Sat-Sun 10-11/Sept. Karateka came from all over the country - see pictures from the course. (Sept/11)

Yate Referee's Course
Sensei Grimes organised a Referee's Course at Yate on Saturday, 30th July. The course was well attended and included classroom sessions and practical application of refereeing skills during kumite held in the dojo. (July/11)

Portland Summer Course
Sensei Grimes led training at the WKF Summer Course from Friday - Monday, 1st - 4th July, at the YMCA in Portland. The weather was incredible, the company was excellent and the training was even better! (July/11)

21st Brean Sands Course
Sensei Grimes and Sensei Heap led training at the 21st Brean Sands Spring Course on the weekend of 6-8/May. It was an excellent course enjoyed by all - find out more and see pictures of training. (May/11)

2nd Pre-Dan Grading Course
Sensei Grimes held a second Pre-Dan Grading course at Yate Leisure Centre on the weekend 19-20/Mar. The course included a detailed review of Kushanku and also a detailed review of Kihon Gumite. (Mar/11)

Pre-Dan Grading Course
Sensei Grimes held a Pre-Dan Grading course at Yate Leisure Centre on the weekend 15-16/Jan. The course focused on many aspects of the Dan grading including basics and Kata applications both for juniors and adults. (Jan/11)

Weekend course at Chiswick
Sensei Heap (7th Dan Wado Kai) hosted the annual course at his Chiswick Dojo on Saturday-Sunday 25-26/September. Sensei Grimes (7th Dan Kyoshi) travelled to Chiswick to lead training with Sensei Heap. The course was well attended and everyone picked-up something new. (Sept/10)

Successful Yate weekend course
Sensei's Grimes (7th Dan Kyoshi) and Heap (7th Dan Wado Kai) led a very popular course at Yate Leisure Centre on the weekend Saturday-Sunday 14-15/August. Karateka from all over the country enjoyed the course and got new insight into Naihanchi and much more. (Aug/10)

Confirmed dates for WKF Summer Course
The WKF Summer Course will take place at the YMCA in Portland, Weymouth, Dorset from Friday 1/July/11 to Monday 4/July/11 - see you there!

Four new Clubs join the WKF
The WKF welcomes four new clubs from Suffolk into the Federation. The clubs are all run by Sensei Geoff Price and are based in: Haverhill; Stoke by Clare; Clare; and Glemsford. (Aug/10)

Celebration Dinner
Sensei's Grimes, Heap, Quilliam and Mrs Grimes hosted an excellent dinner in Yate on Saturday evening 14/August to celebrate a great start to the Yate weekend course. Everyone was carbing-up ahead of Sundays session and refilling the tanks after Saturdays session. It was a great night of stories and jokes - old favourites and the odd new one! (Aug/10)


20th Brean Sands Course
Karateka from all over the UK descended on Pontins Brean Sands for the 20th Annual Brean Sands course led by Sensei Grimes (7th Dan, Kyoshi) and Sensei Heap (7th Dan, Wado Kai). As always, it was another excellent course - we all learnt something new, trained hard and caught up with old friends and made some new friends. (May/10)
